How an NYC Chef came to KHIRY to craft the perfect personalized ring for his partner
Rob had heirloom diamonds from his and Tani’s families that he knew he wanted to include in the design, but was looking for a new centerpiece stone to symbolize their joint future. Our team sourced a brilliant lighting ridge black opal from our partners in New York.
Jameel used the gems to sketch several iterations before weaving them into a story he named “Diamonds on the Road to You.” Jameel incorporated the family diamonds to create a trail symbolizing the journeys that both of their families had to take for them to meet and the brilliance of love (and opal!) they found at the end of those long roads, and the start of their saga together.
Rob’s partner Tani already had an eye on KHIRY, so when it came time to find an engagement ring, he knew he wanted to make something special with our Creative Director, Jameel. Jameel worked with Rob to learn about Tani’s history, personal style, and connection with Rob to find inspiration for the design.
Once the design was ready, our partner workshops created custom molds to cast the ring in solid 18K Gold, then hand-set the precious gemstones. Working locally in NYC means that we can monitor the quality every step of the way, resulting in an heirloom quality ring fit for a legacy.
We’re pleased to say that the engagement was a success! Tani was surprised by the ring and all the thought that Rob put into it. She especially loved the substantial feel of the ring on her hand and the way it catches the light!
